What is NLDITA 2010

NLDITA is a two-day event to be held on 9-10 juni 2010.

• Day 1 will consist of presentations, lectures and small workshops, plus some plenary activities. There will be an information market for NLDITA sponsors and partners to present them selves or their products;
• Day 2 is a workshop day, with at least one workshop Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE100), a workshop DITA Audit and a workshop DITA Authoring. Participants can subscribe to these workshops apart from the conference.

Target audiences

We count on heavy interest from custom-software developers and from information developers from the machinery industries, two sectors where product documentation plays an important role. Their documentation managers face the task to reduce costs in documentation drastically. They also need to produce documentation Time to Market and process updates in time.

From knowledge developing and education institutes the demand for e-learning increases, and so the call for standardization. Knowledge developers and authors are investigating authoring and management tools for writing, managing and publishing course material. Current is the request for on-demand education materials: let students only get the information that is really needed.

Important target audience is of course the group of professional information developers that are already working with DITA.

Several large publishing companys run projects using DITA. Especially when it comes to structured publications (legislation) DITA may play an important role. This is the aspect of automatic layout using the DITA Open Toolkit and other available software tools.
